This Level 2-3 class assumes prior knowledge, but not necessarily proficiency, with the elements from Level 1, including solfa (major pentatonic scale do re mi so la) and rhythm names (crotchet – ta, quavers – titi, and crotchet rest). We will be reviewing and consolidating Level 2 skills and elements including the extended do pentatonic scale (so, la, do re mi so la do’) and rhythms (semiquavers tikatika, ti-tika, tika-ti and dotted quavers tim-ka). Level 3 elements such as an increased understanding of the minor la pentatonic scale and syncopated rhythms will be introduced.
